My husband suffered a debilitating stroke six months ago. I have read many books about his condition and many books about what my life should be moving forward. This was the best, most uplifting book I've read. It's great to know that my best is good enough & to let go of the guilt.

Got this for a friend whose husband was recently diagnosed with cancer. She said it was something she would be referring back to as she continues through this journey. She said it was great. The other book she absolutely loved was Help Me Live, Revised: 20 Things People with Cancer Want You to Know

I recently have been thrown into the role as caretaker for the love of my life, my husband. Overnight in fact! I have found myself lost and at times feel like I am so alone. This book helped me to see a different perspective and allowed me to have feelings I am feeling and understanding it. If you are a caretaker this is one of the best books that tells it like it is and I find it a great read especially when I am facing challenging difficulties.

I was so relieved after I started to read this book. I am not sure what else to say - except that if you are in this situation, read this book sooner rather than later. I am skipping around in it, and plan on rereading sections on a regular basis.A tremendous comfort, and I am seeing results already, after just a few days.

My husband has some chronic health issues for many years but he was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. I read this book because I felt alone and scared. It was very helpful and offers good support and good, practical information. Highly recommend if you have found yourself with a husband who is ill and you are now a caregiver.

This was good. Had a lot of good guidelines and basic ideas to follow. It did help me but I was looking for a little more detailed and in depth. Still a good book for a partner who is a caregive to have read.

The book has some good information but it definitely is geared toward someone who either will eventually recover or has physical limitations but still has their mind. I felt the book only briefly touched on a dealing with a spouse with a life-ending illness and that information was generic. There were a few good comments about different feelings you may be experiencing to reassure you they are normal.
