This inspirational story has been our favorite for years and we regularly watch the film by the same title. I was happily surprised to discover, while reading the book, so many enriching details and insights that the film of necessity omitted. I'm so glad I bought the book!

An exceptional life narrative about a Scottish immigrant who became the Senate Chaplain and Pastor of the "Church of the Presidents" in Washington, D.C. He made a tremendous impact upon young college students, young soldiers, politicians and the common people--especially during World War II.

A great story about a man who truly believed in the Christian faith and trust in God and was given the gift and ability to preach about it. The book goes into more depth and feeling then the movie which was made later.

I have read only parts of this book so far. It's truly inspiring, and it's very interesting if you lived during the era in question, and even if you didn't. Also, the film by the same title is on Netflix (or was recently), and that's a good lead-in to the book. Note these actors in the film: Ann B. Davis as Peter Marshall's secretary, and Jean Peters as Catherine Marshall. Jean Peters was one of the leads in Three Coins in the Fountain.

I have read this before and loved it, so I wanted my own copy and it is forwarded by Peter Marshall's son, Peter Marshall. I had been getting newsletters from him and sad about not able to get them any more due to his death. The book looks great and reads great!
