I have to recommend this book like my hair is on fire. The lessons that Bob tells in this book are life-altering. Bob knows what winning looks like and what comes from both winning and losing. Bob has experienced a wide range of emotions in his life and he puts those to work for the benefit of all of us mortals. I have been looking forward to this book for months. I am very happy that we all can have the benefit of Bob's life's lessons. I must admit that I have met Bob in "real life" and he is all this book represents plus 10X. Bob is personable and sincere and you can tell when you are with Bob that he cares more about improving your world than anything else.

I was surprised when i got the book. I was expecting pictures of Bob from his Hall of Fame career, tennis world championships and juicy stories of the senior USTA tennis tour..But what i got was a "self help" book..Now i have read my share of this type..I am an improvement type of person and am in the midst of a huge "improvement" cycle right now so i thought Bob's book would be more of the same and just add to my current endeavours...However I am honestly stunned by the simplicity and powerful message Bob's book contains..It made me think..Think Hard..It made me cry..It made me want to do better..Best of all it teaches you the "HOW and "WHY"..I do know Bob and see him occasionally. When he speaks to you, he looks at you and he sees inside..Not in a bad way but in a way that he is trying to understand you..maybe help you down the road..It's his nature...His life in tennis; his rewarding and heartbreaking personal life has led him to this moment of a 5 year journey of getting his ideas out to the masses..It takes a fierce and courageous competitor to bite off a subject like improving people's lives..Bob is not a doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist..He isn't certified to to get into peoples minds..But he accomplishes much more than many of those experts..Bob does it by teaching himself; recognizing his own limitations, learning from his students and reading what others have done from ancient history. After finishing the book i went back to highlight the areas i wanted to concentrate on..I stopped after the first 2 chapters because the whole book would be highlighted.

What an awesome book - so good that not only was I compelled to download the E version, but shortly afterwards the hard and audible copies too!Bob Litwin, former ITF seniors world No.1, combines his years of tennis and business performance coaching experience in an accessible and inspiring way to help the reader understand what's really important to them, and begin creating the process of living out the best story of the rest of their lives. As a player and coach myself I loved the tennis references throughout the book, but this book is not just for tennis guys.Find out what's important to you, why it's important, and how to get what you 'really' want by reading the book.

Bob Litwin has done an outstanding job of generalizing the lessons he’s learned from coaching and playing competitive tennis to living a life. These lessons are integrated with his own story of personal rebirth born out of the tragic loss of his first wife. The combination of concrete exercises (he lists 33 Personal Coaching Sessions) enhanced by his personal story makes his Live The Best Story of Your Life a compelling read. Litwin’s basic thesis is a simple one: often the stories which we tell ourselves about ourselves prevent us from achieving our goals or just plain old make us unhappy. Put your Old Story in writing, he says, and get to know it. Then write your New Story as the person you would like to be. His 33 Personal Coaching sessions are the tools which you can use to enable yourself to change. As Litwin is careful to point out, not all 33 Sessions will resonate for every individual in every situation. If a particular Session does not resonate, move on, he says, maybe the next one will. My particular favorites were Celebrate Your Successes/Shrink Your Failures and Fake It ‘Til You Make It. If you’re thinking about making a change, this book is a good place to start.
