Meet Kitten, an adorable gray and white, curious kitten. In this adventure he meets Snake, a rattlesnake! Kitten gets quite the surprise when the "stick" he is swatting talks back to him. Puppy doesn't mind his tail being swatted, why does Snake?! This is a GREAT opportunity to warn your ever curious child of the dangers of rattlesnakes and/or all poisonous snakes. When Snake rises up Kitten considers swatting his tongue but thinks better of it! Can Kitten slither like Snake? As in all the "friends" Kitten meets, he wants to play. What game will the two of these new friends find to play together? As well as being amusing, this well-written book is also educational. Learn how snakes slither and molt. There is a great moral presented at the end also. Following that you will find 11 coloring pages! Yes, this is not just your regular picture book!IMPORTANT TO NOTE that this book is NOT suitable for all electronic devices so please check the listing to ensure you are not disappointed. To be honest, these books are WAY better in paperback anyways. They deserve to be held and the illustrations and stories cherished, they are that good! Yes, I was provided a paperback copy of this book by the author but that has not influenced my review. I also downloaded some of the others onto my Kindle which is how I first found these books. It takes a LOT to really impress me but this series did it! Thanks, Liz

What a darling story! I love the innocence of Kitten. And snake, well, he grew on me, as I'm not a big fan of snakes. Through discussion and compromise, the two become friends and figure out a way to play together. I loved this charming story and kids will love it too. Parents will appreciate the discussion and learning possibilities. I'm anxious to read it with my grandchildren!5-cuddly kitty stars for Aviva Gittle, Kitten & Snake!!

Author Aviva Gittle and illustrator Tekla Huszar presents this adorable story about two unlikely friends. This tale is filled with compassion for one another, regardless of their differences. There are many learning facts about snakes that will extend learning. The illustrations are rendered in bright colors with sharp details that will leave readers waiting for the next page.I'm looking forward to reading more of these author's stories in the "Friends and Kittens Series."(I received a copy of this book through a free offer by the author.)

In this sweet book, Kitten & Snake, children learn that scary things aren't always as scary as they seem. Learning to be less judgmental is an important lesson for children, this book does a great job of teaching that lesson. In Aviva Gittle's book a very cute, curious kitten makes friends with a snake. Learning to show mutual respect for each other's ways is the key to their friendship success. Kids will love the illustrations that go along with the book - this might be the cutest, fluffiest kitten on the market. Boys and girls alike will love this book.

Aviva Gittle's children's books-- especially the "kitten books"-- are the best for modeling behaviors most parents would have their little ones acquire. Kitten is outgoing, confident, and playful. In "Kitten and Snake" we are introduced to additional "kitten behaviors" when Kitten shows respect for Snake's "difference" but doesn't accept Snake's position that "snakes and kittens don't play together." Kitten perseveres, and finds a way to open that closed door. A delightful lesson.

Another lovely little tale of a new friendship. Part of a lovely collection of short stories for young to enjoy.

This is the kind of book that I look for when choosing a children's book. The story about how unusual friendships can work is such a great lesson and can lead to some wonderful discussions with your child. It's very entertaining but at the same time, filled with a lot of fun facts and beautiful illustrations.

Along with gorgeous, action-oriented illustrations, this story manages to communicate facts about snakes and kittens in the context of a sweet story about finding understanding between new friends, whatever their differences.
