Fancy a Pint? In London is a no-nonsense guide to the best (and worst) of London's diverse and legendary drinking establishments. A unique feature of the book is that it groups the pubs by the nearest tube (subway) stop, making it easy to find a place or discover hidden gems. Almost every pub in the city is profiled—and with color photos and details on atmosphere, clientele, food, and the range of drinks on offer, this book is set to become the bible of London pub guides.

Gordon moved from Yorkshire to London more than 25 years ago, settling in the East End. Always keen for a pint, he started compiling lists of the many pubs he'd visited in the capital, eventually building the database that resulted in the Fancyapint.com web site. He formed Fancyapint Ltd in 1999 with one of his BT colleagues, Dean Fetzer, they both left BT a few years ago in order to turn the guide into a full time business.

There are so many facets to London, from literary to art and everything in between. But, if your thing is London pubs, this is the book for you. First of all, the pubs are rated, but you can find that info many places. What sets "Fancy" apart is the way pubs are grouped in areas, complete with maps showing landmarks, streets, and metro stops. Makes it dead easy to head for one pub, but know exactly where many others are in the same vicinity. Pubs are not only rated, but there's a brief, but meaningful description of what you can expect in the way of beer, food, and atmosphere. Simply a wonderful, practical book for finding your way around the London pub scene.
